For anyone out there who goes through a lot of armature wire, like me, i've found that i can get far more for cheaper at a hardware store. whereas at a store like hobby lobby, you get 8 feet for around $5, at a hardware store they are selling aluminum wire in the "picture hanging" (don't know what to call this section of the store, tee hee) 200 feet for around $6. This is wonderful as i feel like i can be far more creative when i don't feel i have to "ration" my supplies.

Xaverivs,

You may want to try ordering the armature wire online but if that is not an option then the copper wire will work. For my first polymer clay sculpture I used a metal coat hanger and it worked just fine. The wire was very sturdy and the only issue I had was bending it in the shape that I wanted (needlenose pliers works best for bending the wire)

Hi! Your blog is just amazing! I love it!
And, about armature wire, I already knew about it, and I've tried so hard to get it, but it's proven really dificult. See, I live in Mexico, and when I go to hardware stores, they don't even know there are wires made of aluminium. I'm kinda desperate know. Are there other options? You think copper wire can do the trick?
